Peptides are revolutionizing proteins found in many highly concentrated skincare products. Their non-irritating and long-term anti aging benefits have made them very popular, because they reverse the aging process significantly. They are shortened versions of proteins, containing as few as two to as many as fifty amino acid strands. There are four important classes of peptides. Here is some information about each one ! Signal peptides: This is the most widely used peptide in skin care, because of its increased support in firmness, strength, suppleness, and elasticity. Matrixyl 3000 (Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) is a very popular signal peptide. Carrier peptides: These transport active ingredients, such as copper and zinc, and show significant improvements in minimizing appearance of wrinkles. Copper Tetrapeptide-1 is a topical carrier peptide used to significantly improve the appearance of wrinkles. Neurotransmitter peptide: They block the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, similar to Botox. A common neurotransmitter peptide, Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8), is used to relax the muscles that create expression lines. Enzyme-modulating peptides: These help to inhibit melanin production, inflammation, and reduce appearance of puffiness and bags under eyes. Eyeliss (Dipeptide-2) is used to reduce appearances of bags and prevent eye puffiness. When combined with other ingredients, peptides can enhance their benefits, making the product more effective! !Fun fact! Peptides can serve as a stress reducer. Some influence how a person feels by stimulating the pituitary gland to release hormones- oxytocin being one of them, which is a hormone released in the body to reduce stress. Both skincare lines @earthglow_ ✨are fabulously peptide-infused.
